When networking, I always ask about others. I want to know what they do and what makes them different than others in their same industry. To get to know someone in that way and to get answers to all of those questions takes time.
I rather sit down for 15-20 minutes and really get to know what makes this other “business” owner or “service” provider “Different”.
The 1 minute business card and 30 second stadium pitch method of Networking is a bit sickly these days. If I get to know you I will be more likely to tell others about your business.
If I have you in a “captive” forum, such as on my Radio Show, the connection is like 3 inch in diameter steel bands.
Final Question – is it really necessary to say you are the “#1″ at anything?
